Keep On Truckin'
On June 6th, a lack of communication between a mechanic and a trucker
led to huge problems for Qui Hong Pham, a mechanic from Notodden, Norway.
A truck driver thought Pham was done working on his rig when he looked
around and didn't see anyone inside the garage. However, he didn't see
anyone because Pham was busy working underneath the truck.
The driver hopped into the cab and began backing out of the garage. Thinking
quickly, and in an effort to avoid being run over, Pham grabbed on to
the bottom of the truck and held on for dear life. He figured the driver
would stop eventually so he could let go and crawl out.
Of course, he was right. The driver DID stop -- 12 miles later.
According to the Aftensposten newspaper, Pham, who sustained cuts and
bruises, is recovering in a hospital. "It's amazing that he survived,"
said Notodden police. "We can barely understand it."
