A drunk 40-year-old man from Brisbane, Australia drove up to a gas station on the Gold Coast tourist strip of Queensland early Wednesday morning. He lit up a cigarette and pulled an empty gas can from his car.

He proceeded to fill the can with gas when the cigarette he was smoking somehow ignited the fuel in the can. When the petrol exploded, his car burst into flames and he was blown approximately fifteen feet in the air and landed in a nest of angry ants.

Authorities were immediately called and police promptly arrested the singed, bug-bit and groggy man. He was charged with drunk-driving, driving without a license and driving an unregistered vehicle.

"He suffered a few small burns and some ant bites," a police spokesman said. "We took a vote and this is one of the stupidest things we've ever heard of."
